Four Conditions Related To Shoulder
February 25, 2014In an interview with local Chinese press, Dr Tan talks about the four common shoulder problems in Singapore and the treatment involved for these problems.
- Athletes or NS men in their 20s commonly have recurring shoulder dislocations. The only way to treat these problems at the source is to have shoulder surgery
- Rotator cuff pain is a common problem among people in their 40s. It is important to seek treatment early before the shoulder injury worsens. Minimally invasive shoulder surgery is now available.
- Among the elderly in the 50s, frozen shoulder is a common complaint, affecting their daily lives where they experience pain even with activities such as wearing their clothes. Non-invasive treatment is usually recommended, unless a consultation with the shoulder surgeon proves to be more serious.
- Even for people who do not play tennis, they may experience pain associated with the tennis elbow. Treatment for the tennis elbow usually involves injections before surgery is recommended to eliminate chronic pain.
